New work, February 2010

I am currently photographing work for a self promotion campaign. I photograph a lot of personally assigned work between paid assignments both to stay creative and also to use for promotional purposes. I started planning the project last fall and have collaborated with stylist Laura Flagler on all aspects of the project including: wardrobe, locations, props and styling.

So far in January we have already shot at a number of locations with several different models and things have started coming together. This shot is of Kelsee Wirtjes with The Agency Arizona. The project isn’t finished yet, but this is a sneak preview of what I am working on for epromos and print promos for 2010.

New Work, November 2009

Here are a few looks from a recent test with model Sarah Hatcher from Ford/Robert Black Agency.  We experimented with a number of different setups and this was one my favorite since it gave me quite a few different shots and options for layout purposes. Michele Lee  was the Hair/Makeup stylist.

On location in Bisbee…

On a recent weekend, I was on the road again for a shoot for Runner’s World Magazine, this time the location was in Bisbee in southern Arizona. I photographed the Bisbee 1000 race for the magazine. Here are a few personal shots from the trip. The feature for RW will publish next year so I won’t be able to show that work until publication.

Location scouting in Arizona and California

I am starting to plan some personal work to be shot over the next few months. I recently spent some time scouting locations in western Arizona and southern California.

I am always looking to find interesting locations that offer a unique perspective. While things are still in the planning stages, I am excited about the challenges this new work will bring and hope to have new work to show by the new year…

Here are a few shots from a recent shoot…

I  wanted to create a series of shots that are a kind of  ’day in the life’ sequence for a model test  and recently I collaborated with HMU artist Michele Lee on the concepts, styling and locations for this particular shoot.

We worked with Jason Bright from The Agency Arizona and shot on location at the P2 condo’s in Phoenix and around downtown.

On assignment in Flagstaff for Runner’s World

Last week I photographed a feature for Runner’s World Magazine in Sedona and Flagstaff, Arizona on the Run S.M.A.R.T Project. The project is essentially a training camp for distance runners. The article won’t be published for awhile so I can’t show any of the final shots but I have worked up some personal and iphone photos that show the experience.

I spent two days during the week working on the project and in between had to go to Tucson shooting for a different magazine. It was great to get out of town to do some work and some of the locations up north were amazing. The photos will be featured as a preview for the 2010 camp and will be published next year.

Here are a few shots from a recent model test…

Again, I collaborated with HMU artist Michele Lee on the concepts, styling and locations for the shoot. I wanted to do a shoot with more natural and environmental feel so instead of shooting with a professional model this time we worked with Michele’s friend Rachel Root and photographed her at her house.
