David George promotional photos
I recently photographed a musician friend of mine, David George, while he was on tour in Phoenix. I have known David for years. We met back in Kansas City in the mid-late 90′s. I photographed two album covers for his band Moaning Lisa in 2000 and 2003 and numerous promo photos over the years.
He’s been living in Los Angeles since 2004 and I don’t see as much of him these days. He is currently recording a solo record that is due out next year and was playing a couple shows in Arizona. While in Phoenix we collaborated on some photos that will probably be used in album artwork after he finishes recording. Here are my favorites from the shoot…and check out his music here.

Sarah Hatcher from Ford/Robert Black Agency
Here are a few looks from a recent test with model Sarah Hatcher from Ford/Robert Black Agency. We experimented with a number of different setups and this was one my favorite since it gave me quite a few different shots and options for layout purposes. Michele Lee was the Hair/Makeup stylist.
Prime Living magazine, November 2009
In early October, I photographed another magazine cover for Prime Living a luxury lifestyle magazine for the Houston, Texas market. Below is the final published version that has just been released.
Shawna Bowen, sweat lodge deaths in Sedona for People Magazine
I recently traveled to Sedona, Arizona to photograph an assignment for People Magazine. The magazine was writing a story about deaths that occurred during a sweat lodge at a resort south of Sedona.
My subject Shawna Bowen is a substance abuse therapist who was one of the first people on the scene the day of this tragic event. This portrait of Shawna is my favorite outtake from the shoot. She was a great subject and very kind to allow us to go back to the area where the event took place. The photo below is the road leading down to the valley where the resort is located.
